#2020, The world in my eyes.
The world is fast evolving as said everywhere, only this year was there a pause. A “slight ” one😷.
It all began with the news, always giving us too much useful information. The next was the all-glorious social media which came with a lot of memes, trends and a calming frenzy. The only problem was this time, it is a pandemic with no actual cure. Many preventive measures or saving grace but no actual cure, unsettling times😰😰.
A worldwide panic began as pandemic began to live to its name. Controversies were made as the world began to move slowly till it suddenly stopped in its way, a lockdown was made. Quarantine this, Quarantine that…😒. After all, it’s for our good. With that, we were relieved of the lockdown.
We had already settled into the year and everyone was fine, the semester had gone far and tests were just around the corner but as we’ll have it, all things can’t just go smoothly. A warning strike was issued, school out👀. There was still hope though, as school seemed likely to resume soon since it was a warning... Not!!! We all went home anyway.
A week later, a lockdown was issued cleaning up all the other issues like a pro. Most of our beliefs were contained and panic prevailed. Fear coursed through some of our veins but social media was quick to act, as usual. Long story short, many went Virtual while others tried to make ends meet and survive.
The Virtual world then fully established, many trends began as there seemed like nothing to do, nostalgic shows and animation rose back to the top and best of all memes were refurbished. Bigger and better😍. It seemed like no one had nothing to do but there was much to be achieved. Many things had been cut short, all hope was lost and anxiety somehow set in. Much awareness on that was needed to help many but then many acted on impulse and spent their sorrowful time with music, chatting, gaming and some in isolation😟. The forefront of the lockdown was fully established, #familytime.
All the while, the government making us facepalm 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♀️.
Sooner than later, everything became, "Online this... Online that...". Many schools resorting to virtual classes, even the younger generation moving towards the virtual age in terms of education. Controversies began as some saw it as a 5G revolution, 🤓.
Skill acquisition fully became key in development as many decided to learn alongside earn somehow with a lot of free training to introduce a paid master class. Online courses were no exception as many were made free to enable the idle. Businesses were not left out as prices increased and profits were exceptional. Trading and Crypto fully came up and this time were well received.
This time most had adhered to the safety rules and regulations and numbers hardly mostly in check. Movement resumed with a reviewed curfew and the numbers skyrocketed. Many things resumed, office work, markets and many more. Almost like before😒.
Matters arose from many areas, racism was relived this time full on, rape took its toll on everyone alongside sexual allegations. Some done for clout. Tragic happenings and protests to spread the word. Highest of all, individual perspectives behind the scenes and friendships lost.
Robbery, Cybercrime, Kidnapping and many fraudulent activities are in season. The way out, unknown. The only settling part would've been the calmness the rain brings but then flood humbles us all.
Finally its football season with loads laughter and disappointment on the first day.
A lot of lives were lost in just the first half of the year, be thankful for yours. Hopefully, things will get better and ways will change. Thoughts will be modified and no blame game. Life will surely be better, and finally we will all sway to the songs depicting happiness, content and finally an actual way.
